Visiting the Octagon House Museum

The Octagon House is open second and fourth Sundays of the month. Docent-led tours are available to visitors.

Open:
Octagon House is traditionally open to the public on the second and fourth Sundays.

Hours:
12 noon to 3:00 pm. Please try to arrive no later than 2:45 pm.

Closed:
The Octagon House is closed during the month of January and holidays.

Admission:
Free: Donations are appreciated.

Directions:
From Golden Gate Bridge, go east on Lombard Street and turn south onto Gough Street. Go three blocks to Union Street.

From SF Downtown, go north on Van Ness Avenue and turn west onto Union Street, go two blocks.

Parking:
Available at metered spaces on the streets or at the public garage on Union Street at Laguna Street. The garage is two and one-half blocks west of the Octagon House and on north side of Union Street.

Guided Group Tours

Private tours can be arranged by completing this Group Tour Request Form.

Please note: Octagon House is small and may accommodate only 20 guests at one time.  Group Tours may last 45 to 60 minutes. There are no group tours on the 2nd or 4th Thursday or the 2nd Sunday of the month.
